Pender County’s beautiful beaches of Surf City & Topsail Beach are popular destinations for visitors seeking a relaxed, family-oriented vacation and are right next door to unspoiled rivers, bountiful woodland, and friendly communities such as Hampstead or Burgaw. Discover a variety of historical attractions, ecological activities, and hometown festivals. From Moores Creek Battlefield, the first patriot victory of the Revolutionary War, to Poplar Grove Plantation, one of the oldest existing peanut plantations in NC.

History

The Tourism Office is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

The Old Pender County Jail in downtown Burgaw at 106 East Wilmington St. is now the home of the Pender County Tourism office. The newly restored Jail is right on the Courthouse Square, and as a visitor, you will have no problem finding the new Visitor Center. You will find information about what there is to see and do in Pender County.
